Ever attend a wedding where the bride and groom had their initals projected in light on the dance floor or a wall and you loved it? Monogram lighting is an elegant touch and a dramatic cost effective visual statement. However, getting your monogram projected through a lighting fixture is no simple task. Cut corners and you won't be happy so here's the 411 on monogram lighting...
Goboman.com offers a do it yourself package for $229. It's the cheapest option I could find on the internet. This does not include a stand for the light and it only includes a 100 watt light. This is not a bright fixture and requires a dark environment. The throw or distance between the light and projected surface will also be very limited (that means it may be ok if projected very close to the wall or floor). A good, crisp and bright monogram can only be produced using a very bright elipsoidal fixture such as a 575 watt ETC Source Four Jr. Your monogram must be designed using a graphic art program such as Photoshop. Then a disc called a gobo must be created for a perfect image with clean crisp lines. Gobos are discs inserted in lighting fixtures to project an image. A professional DJ or local lighting rental company can help you but you'll want to consider their reputation as well as rates.
We have a reputation for high quality production lighting... artwork, proof, production and set up on your big day. It's one of our most popular options. For more information on this service visit 513dj.com. You can also shoot me an email with questions at Ryan@513dj.com.
